Required Skills:
● BS in Computer Science or a related field (or a good reason for not having one).
● 3+ years of experience in Java-based software development.
● Experience in J2EE (Servlets, JSP, JSTL, JDBC, annotations).
● Experience with enterprise software issues (multi-threading, pooling, caching, performance tuning, etc.)
● Experience with at least 1 Java application server (we use Tomcat).

Front-End Developer (multiple positions)
Location: Chicago, IL & New York, NY
Type: Contract (need quick starts)

At this time we are looking for people that can do an immediate start onsite in either NYC or Chicago. An in-person interview will be required as part of the process.

Candidates must have experience using user interface technologies (JSP, AJAX, D/HTML, JSTL, etc.), Java, Ruby, J2EE (JSP, Servlets, JNDI, EJBs, JMS), Struts/Spring and database environments.

Required Skills
• Strong command of essential web technologies: XHTML, CSS, JavaScript (jQuery/Prototype), AJAX, JSON, DOM Scripting, unobtrusive JavaScript, XML/XSLT, W3C DOM methods and properties, Adobe Photoshop and other graphic editing tools

The Position:

Overview:

Ketchum Digital is focused on influencing the conversation about brands and issues as it works its way across the social media. From planning to benchmarking to tactical development and implementation, the group serves as a consultative filter and executor when it comes to listening and engaging with the people behind digital and mobile technologies.

This is a hands-on position and includes the management of the technical team, including all digital developers, quality-assurance analysts and technical experts. The Technical Lead will also advise clients, account teams, and technical staff on technology solutions and will be responsible for determining the technology requirements for programs, platforms and the infrastructure.

Leadership:

Contribute technical expertise to the development of the Agency¹s Digital strategy
Manage the technical execution of all digital projects
Capture detailed technical requirements. Define technical approach with hands on front end and back end development
Act as the senior counselor on technical execution of digital projects to team members, account teams, and clients
Track industry trends to ensure completeness of Agency’s digital product service suite

Operations:

Aid in the development of project budgets and timelines as well as make staffing decisions along with Manager, Senior Digital
Producer
Uphold product, service, and process quality standards to ensure output exceeds client expectations
Manage technology vendor relationships including hosting and streaming service providers

Talent/Staffing:

Oversee performance management, career development, coaching, and mentoring digital developers and quality assurance analysts
Partner with HR to recruit, select, and onboard top digital talent
Maintain contact with developer staff to effectively evaluate their capabilities and performance; provide recognition and make staff changes, where appropriate
Manage flexible workforce, working with recruiters to hire freelance developers and QA analysts; on-boarding and training freelancers; and managing freelancers’ time-tracking

Business Development:

Partner with SVP, Director – Business Development, Client Service and Strategy to scope new program opportunities
Support business unit’s visibility (i.e., on-site work with clients, attending industry events, participating in speaking engagements, etc.)

The Requirements:

7-10 years involvement and hands-on Web site and application development
5 years experience managing technical staff
Demonstrable experience in technical project management, and experience in formal methodologies like Agile, RUP and SCRUM, are desirable
Demonstrated ability to hand-code HTML User Experiences. Experience with CSS2, PHP, JavaScript, Jquery, JSP and Ruby on Rails. Experience with a variety of server environments, especially Linux; version-control systems and Oracle WebLogic
Experience with the Drupal CMS platform a plus
Significant experience with government clients and Section 508 Compliance
Computer Science degree or relevant work experience
PR, ad, marketing or digital experience a plus
Comfortable with auditing and analyzing other developer’s code
Work with development team to continually evolve development best practices
