The skinny:
“You will own and develop end-to-end projects using both Java backend and web technologies
“You will technically design and contribute to architecture
“You will estimate your projects/tasks
“You will pay careful attention to detail
“You will extensively collaborate with product, UX, DB, and BI teams
“You will passionately enforce & defend code quality
“You will be responsible for ensuring that your code is covered by both unit tests and functional tests where applicable
“You will motivate yourself to achieve your goals
“You will talk to people, a lot, so communication skills are a must
“You will be a team player
“You will troubleshoot
“You will work with the following technologies: Java, Spring, JSP, MySQL, Tomcat, Lucene, Javascript, Ant/Ivy, CVS

The specs:
“You earned a BS in Computer Science or related field, from top tier college or university
“Your experience developing Java web applications is a plus
“You have experience with MySQL or major database system such as Oracle, SQL Server, or Sybase
“You have knowledge of common design patterns

Qualifications:

- Java EE or ASP .NET development skills:
- Strong understanding of core Java SE/.NET including core classes and interfaces
- Experience developing and deploying high-performance applications with hands-on knowledge of performance tuning, load-balancing, and failover.
- Experience with HTML markup, CSS, Java Script, AJAX and related technologies
- Experience using SQL with any relational DB
- Experience with any MVC frameworks and persistence frameworks
- Understanding of multithreading and synchronization

The following skills would be a plus:
- Working knowledge of networking, including sockets, protocols, topologies, and proxies
- Extensive knowledge of HTTP protocol, SOAP/REST Web Services
- Experience with content management applications such as MS SharePoint, EMC Documentum, IBM Lotus, and Oracle Middleware.
- Experience with web scripting languages such as PHP and Perl.

Qualifications:

- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Experience in XHTML (HTML 5 a plus), Javascript, CSS and general Web 2.0 techniques
- Highly motivated, Innovative, self-directed thinker with an eagerness to stay up-to-date with current trends.
- Design, implement, and maintain Ruby on Rails based components in a consumer facing web environment a plus
- Conceptualize and build efficient, well-organized web applications
- Work on all levels of the technical stack, from front-end styling to back-end coding
- Experience with object oriented analysis/design
- Familiarity with relational databases, preferably MYSQL and Oracle
- Understanding of web services technologies such as SOAP, HTTP, WSDL, XSD, and REST.
- Understanding of code manipulation and techniques to improve page load times and performance
- Knowledge of design patterns, refactoring and unit testing
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for
the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code
reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
